✦ Concealed Integrated Gutter ✦ No Visible Hardware ✦ No Visible Drainage ✦ Laminated Safety Glass ✦ Membrane Deck Compatible
One System. One Fascia Line. Zero Visual Clutter.
On most deck builds, railing brackets, gutters, cladding, and membrane terminations all compete for space at the fascia. The result is a cluttered edge detail that no amount of finish work fully resolves.
Clearline™ eliminates that conflict. The railing and concealed gutter sit within the same zone — both aligning cleanly along the fascia. The outcome is a sharper, more architecturally resolved edge detail that high-end residential demands.
Glass Options
| With concealed gutter — no top rail | 9/16" or 5/8" laminated safety glass |
| With top rail | 1/2" tempered safety glass + continuous stainless handrail |
| Panel connection | H-Clamp between panels |
| Hardware visibility | Fully concealed behind the clip on cladding |
| Substrate | Membrane decking, concrete, timber, steel |
Why laminated glass? Unlike tempered-only glass, laminated panels hold together if broken — the interlayer keeps the barrier intact and occupants protected. The right specification for upper-level decks, balconies, and anywhere children are present.
Why Architects Specify Clearline™ with Concealed Gutter
One supplier, fully integrated system - railing, drainage, and fascia finish all coordinated through Glass Vice®, reducing on-site complexity and supplier management.
True hidden gutter - no visible spouting, no exposed drainage hardware, no compromise to the exterior aesthetic even during Southern California rain events.
Laminated safety glass standard - panels stay intact if broken, superior occupant protection on upper-level and cantilevered builds.
Clean sightlines - no visible fixing hardware on the glass face, no visual clutter at the deck edge.
Compatible with Clearline™ standard frameless railing - specify both systems across the same project for a fully consistent finish.

Building codes generally require tempered safety glass or laminated safety glass meeting CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Cat II or ANSI Z97.1 Class A. Glass Vice and Clearline clamps are designed to accept either 9/16" or 5/8" laminated safety glass for frameless glass railing installations without a top cap rail, achieving the required 42" guard height. For installations where a top cap rail is used, 1/2" tempered glass is also an accepted specification.
For commercial applications — including stadiums, hospitality venues, and large-scale developments — Glass Vice hardware can accommodate thicker glass configurations. We recommend contacting Glass Vice USA directly to discuss the right specification for your project.
Glass specifications should always be confirmed with your glazier, installer, or engineer against local IBC and IRC requirements. Some jurisdictions have specific interpretations on laminated versus tempered glass for guard applications, and your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) has final say on what is accepted at permit stage.

Yes — although you can use Clearline without the cover cladding. Clearline features an optional decorative cover plate that clads over all the clamps, concealing the fixing point for a clean, finished appearance. Cover plates are available in mill finish as standard and can be custom powder coated to match your Clearline system or surrounding architecture. We do also offer individual bracket covers to ensure your design preferences are met.
