SouthernLites™ is a semi-frameless aluminum post and rail system engineered for clean architectural lines, proven durability, and fast contractor installation. Built around a 2" × 2" aluminum post with a 1½" × 2½" top rail, the system accepts glass, horizontal slat, or vertical slat infills — giving builders, architects, and contractors a single adaptable platform for virtually any railing or fencing application.
The No Bottom Rail Difference
Most post and rail systems require a bottom rail. SouthernLites™ does not. Glass panels sit raised off the substrate — water, leaves, and debris pass straight through. The result is a cleaner look, faster installation, and less material cost on every job.

Glass Infill ½” A-grade tempered safety glass panels sit raised off the substrate with no bottom rail. Water and debris pass straight through. Available clear or grey tinted.
Horizontal Slat Infill 2½” powder-coated aluminum slats configured horizontally for privacy screens, pool surrounds, and decorative fencing. Custom spacing, custom cut to length. Optional maneuverable louvre configuration for airflow and light control.
Cape Cod Vertical Slat Infill A contemporary take on the classic vertical picket. Clean upright lines in black or mill finish — ideal for stair railings, deck perimeters, and commercial façades where a more traditional profile is specified.

Building codes generally require tempered safety glass or laminated safety glass meeting CPSC 16 CFR 1201 Cat II or ANSI Z97.1 Class A. Minimum panel thickness and configuration will depend on the hardware system, post spacing, and application. Glass Vice USA can provide technical documentation to support your glazier or engineer in specifying the correct glass. we are one of the only companies with a product range ICC Certified without a top cap. other systems must have top caps installed when used as a railing.
