La Jolla Cove is one of Southern California’s most iconic coastal locations — a protected marine reserve where harbour seals bask on the rocks and the Pacific stretches uninterrupted to the horizon. When the hotel required new balcony railing across its beachfront accommodation, the specification demanded hardware that could match the setting.

Glass Vice® Direct Fix brackets were installed throughout in a powder-coated matte black finish, paired with a coordinating black top rail for a considered, architectural look that complements the hotel’s coastal aesthetic. The result is a frameless glass balcony railing system that frames the view rather than competing with it — giving guests unobstructed sightlines directly over the La Jolla seal colony and out across the cove.

Black-finished hardware was chosen to provide contrast against the glass and sky while keeping the overall profile slim and refined. Where raw stainless can read as cold or industrial in a boutique hospitality context, the matte black Glass Vice® finish delivers a premium, intentional aesthetic that aligns with the hotel’s positioning as a destination property on one of California’s most sought-after stretches of coastline.
